OECD

Daniel Blume heads the OECD Secretariat’s Corporate Governance Unit, responsible for supporting the OECD Corporate Governance Committee’s work to review, monitor, assess and promote implementation of the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. He also leads preparation of the OECD Corporate Governance Factbook, comparing market characteristics, corporate governance policies and frameworks across 49 jurisdictions; and a range of thematic work on issues such as the impacts of digitalization on corporate governance; enforcement of shareholder rights; corporate governance of company groups; and risk management. He has conducted corporate governance policy reviews of numerous countries, including as manager of corporate governance reviews for candidate countries for OECD membership covering both listed companies and state-owned enterprises. He joined the OECD in 1994, and previously worked at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (1991-1994) and as a newspaper reporter (1984-89) in California. He received his master’s degree in public policy from Duke University (1991).
