Jayesh Ranjan is a member of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), and working as Principal, Secretary in the province of Telangana, looking after the portfolios of Information Technology and Industries & Commerce. He is in his current responsibility for over 8 1/2 years. His main responsibilities involve developing policies, promoting investments in the state, identifying opportunities to utilise technology in different government processes and digital empowerment of citizens. He is also responsible for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. The state of Telangana in India is today seen as a role model state for its progressive policies, innovative use of technology and promoting technology entrepreneurship.
